The Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK are organising the “Vietnamese Culture Days 2009” in London, Britain from October 19-31.
Prince Andrew attended the opening ceremony which was held on October 19.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said Vietnam hopes to strengthen the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with the UK.
As part of the Vietnamese Culture Week, Vietnamese artists will stage a number of traditional art performances with songs, dances and music.
The event will also include an exhibition of Vietnamese contemporary painters and the screening of three Vietnamese films including “Don’t burn”, “Pao’s story” and “Dark forest” at Cine Lumiere.
Vietnam and the UK have seen their cultural exchange flourish recently through such activities as art exhibitions, concerts and film shows.
