Japanese art products in spotlight (21-11-2009 06:41:48)
A series of activities ranging from Japanese products show and art performance are being held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to mark the Mekong-Japan Exchange Year 2009.

A drum performance and a robot show will take place in Hanoi on November 24 thanks to joint efforts by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and the Japan International Exchange Fund.

Meanwhile, the Japanese consulate general in HCMC, the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and the Museum of HCMC have worked together to show Japanese products of the 1950s in the city.

Around 100 Japanese products from clothes, vehicles, toys to modern high-technology products like mobile phones, notebook computer and digital cameras are on display from November 14-24.

Also in the context of the Japan-Mekong Exchange Year 2009, a drum performance and a robot show will take place in Hanoi on November 24, Japanese Embassy in Vietnam announced on November 16.

The oldest 13 items are from the post-war years and give an insight into the development of Japanese design.
