“Friendship Connections” programme on international children’s day (24-05-2010 21:02:24)
Vietnamese and foreign children in Hanoi will have a chance to show their cultures at the “Friendship Connections” programme to be held at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi on May 29-30 on the occasion of International Children’s Day (June 1). They will involve in costume shows, dances, singing, and play musical instruments, games and toys.

The programme aims to help children to find out the diversity, similarities, differences as well as cultural integration between countries, between East and West, between tradition and modernity, as well as to enhance the mutual understanding among young people from different countries.

The programme will include shows of traditional costumes from Vietnam, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Austria and Russia as well as songs and dances from India, Russia and Germany.

The participants will play various traditional games, including cat chases mouse (Germany, Vietnam), rabbits in the forest (Russia), walking on stilts (Vietnam), walking on coconut shells (Thailand) and tug of war (Vietnam).

They will learn how to make Vietnamese traditional toys from leaves, flower and fruit.

Additionally, children will be able to enjoy the films of Vietnamese and world legends and try on and make traditional costumes of Vietnam and other countries in the world.
