Dak Nong earmarks 34 billion VND for the preservation of historical, cultural exhibits (30-08-2011 09:46:29)
On August 25, To Dinh Tuan, the Director of the Dak Nong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the Department will implement the project "Collection and conservation - promoting the values of historical and cultural exhibits of the province from 2011 to 2015, driven by 2020" with a total cost of around 34 billion VND.

Currently, the project has been completed and submitted to the People Committee’s for review and approval.

The aim of the project is to collect exhibits on the history and material culture of the ethnic communities in the province throughout history. These will then go on display in order to introduce the people of the province, as well as domestic and foreign tourists, to the richness of the culture and history in the southern Highlands.

Through the project, the Department hopes to preserve the valuable cultural and historical artifacts, of which precious few are left, while educating and promoting the nation’s historical and cultural tradition for young people both now and in the future.

From now until 2015, the branch will focus on collecting the historical artifacts from the wars against the French and the Americans, along with the other cultural artifacts of the indigenous M’nong, Ma and Ede peoples. The project will also place particular emphasis on collating artifacts from the Gong indigenous people who boast a history over 100 years.
